Halloween Hikes Offer Non-Scary Halloween Adventure

Looking for a fun family adventure this October?

Bring your family to the Chattahoochee Nature Center's annual Halloween Hikes; Friday and Saturday nights, October 28 and 29; from 7-10 pm for a non-scary Halloween alternative that will thrill you. This favorite annual event, in its 20th year, gives many families a chance to re-connect to nature and delight in the excitement of the season. Children and adults will experience the mystery of guided night hikes as they walk through the lighted Nature Center trails and meet friendly forest creatures with a tale to tell.

Meet Big Brown Bat, Grey Fox and Frog, or visit Black Widow Spider and Lady Bug.  See the funny Box Turtle, moving ever so slowly and looking exactly like the turtle should. Make a photo with our roaming characters.  Show off your Halloween spirit by having your face painted with one of our WILD Halloween designs. Children in costumes will receive a special "treat".  Have some hot chocolate and sit by the campfire while you enjoy the autumn evening.  There will be arts and crafts to make; such as masks, as well as the ever popular live animal presentations in the Discovery Center.

Ticets are $6 for all ages and go on sale at 6:30 p.m. Children under two are free, but the trails are not suitable for strollers.  All children must be accompanied by adults at all times. Hikes begin at 7 p.m. and run throughout the evening.  Ticket sales end at 9 p.m.   Pre-registration for members and groups of 10 or more can be made and advanced tickets will be available starting October 1st.

For more information, call the Nature Center at 770-992-2055 ext 236.
